Default K24 hood clearance issues

Does anyone know if a K24 will have hood clearance issues in a 92-95 civic? Or a 96-00 civic?

Thanks in advanced

As far as i know, no you won't have any clearance issues if you use a good name brand mounting kit (hasport etc.).

My boy is having the same issue right now on his ek he can put the motor in, but he will have to lift up the hood from the bak about an inch. idk if he wants to go that route. do me a favor take this question to K20a.org im sure alot of those guys will tell you the same.

Can anyone confirm the info about the 96-00 civic?

I have an EG hatch with a K24a2 and Hasport mounts. Yes there are hood clearance issues. It's a fairly simple fix tho'. You just have to cut some of the hood skeleton away over the IM area. I also put in an C&R Visteon full size EP3 radiator so I used a door **** saw to make room for the cap. To offset some of the weight difference between the original motor and the K motor I went with a CF hood and used my old steel hood as a template for removing the skeleton. It came out very nice and it was super easy to remove the skeleton pieces with a dremel tool. It is a little easier to work with an EG than an EK.

So If I use the ekk2 mounts, and remove some of the hood skeleton, the k24 will drop right in with no other problems?

You should also check out k20a dot org for help and build threads that will come in handy. To anyone wanting to swap a K-series into an EK - You will need an EG front sub frame.

^^^^^
eg sub frame = integra steering rack swap = better steering ratio = no stupid horrible usdm 96+ civic handling.

I have the hasports on my ek and it's sitting as we speak about an inch too high at the power steering pump for the hood to close..raising the back won't solve that either
