Phillips Bulbs
I heard something about a German-made Phillips Ultinon(6000k) bulbs, and Japanese-made ones..... are there really two diff. ones? Or are they all like the ones above. If there are 2 diff. ones, is one better then the other?
Thank You,
Jon
Soup **** just answered your question. The package has been repacked inorder to sell in the japanese market. So there is no better one they are the samething.
I was just unsure if they sell multiple 6000k JDM bulbs. Maybe THIS particular packaging above is a repackaging of the German-made Phillips bulbs, but maybe there are other JDM sold 6000k bulbs that are falsely sold as the Ultinons. Just want to make sure Aki has the http://www.xenonhid.com is selling the true Phillips bulbs..

Also, if anyone has pics of the OSRAM 6000k running, post'em if you can, i really would like to see them. I wonder how they look in comparison to the RSX that had the 5000k kit installed a while back, just looked blue/white... and i am told the OSRAM bulbs used with the 6000k kit also look blue/white. This is the only pic i have seen of the 6000k OSRAM kit (taken from http://www.xenonhid.com):

I have been researching a lot about the HID, and contrary to what many believe. OSRAM only make a 5400k bulb, and and Phillips Ultinon bulbs are in fact 5800k. This is probably why the OSRAM kit that SoupNazi has is blue/white in color rather then the Ultinon's purple/white color.
The only companies that make the outrageously high kelvin ratings bulbs are smaller less popular companies (not Phillips, OSRAM, or Hella).

this also looks remarkably similiar to the philip ultinons (genuine)...
and also you may be right about the temperature breakdown.
It would explain alot. most companies just market it as a 6000k or a 4300k. some as 4800k but not many.
the K temps are not usually on the dot

the guy swore he had the ultinon kit, and this was confirmed on a second meeting with another ultinon kit buyer

It was just a little too blue for my likings.
edit: i also got this complaint ALOT when i sold people the ultinon bulbs...only thing that really kept me out of customer hell support was the fact that I did, strongly warn them about not buying these bulbs, and to get osram instead

I guess it was all the hype about the ultinon bulbs being good? i remember that a while ago...

i dont see why you dislike the Ultinon bulbs. I saw them, and they look JUST like BMW/Audi/S2000. They are VIOLET. The OSRAM bulbs are supposedly blue/white. Just like it says at http://www.xenonhid.com .... its preference. I dont see why you think one is "better" then the other.

odd,
the two ultinon sets i've seen are just blue. the ones i've sold, are just blue.
the osrams i've sold are more white. slight purple tint at right angles, otherwise very light purple/blue output.
IM hooptie157 or bdiddy for 2nd opinions

This is EXACTLY what the Ultinon's look like.. and they ARE in fact Ultinons
My guess is your's looks more like this.. (these are Phillips 5000k, but they most likely look similar to your OSRAMS):

Is it just me or is this a REALLY BAD pic of the Ultinon's. They look NOTHING like they do in person (see above pic, that really looks like them). I think its pics like this that make some people think poorly of this kit.
Its the 4100 K Philips D2S bulbs and ballasts. I have had the kit for 20 months on my GSR, but since the GSR is stored for the winter, I moved it over to the XRS. The pics were taken with the white balance set on flourescent lighting and -2 F stops. I underexposed the pics so that you can see the headlight clearly.

This pic was taken with the white balance set on auto, and -1 F stop
