Default What the Hell

I need some help. I'm in the middle of doing my entire front brakes on my 99 Honda Civic. I completed the driver side and decided to call it a night. Those Rotor screws are a bitch to get off. I went to test the brakes and I have ZERO brake pressure while the car is running. With the car off it's not any better. What the hell is going on. I've never had a brake problem with this car and I've done the front brakes before with no issues. I was just driving my car 3 hours prior of starting this brake job with no issues whatsoever. I'm not a mechanic and I dont know where to start. I checked the fluid and its full and stays full, so I dont think I have a leak anywhere. Maybe the caliper I replaced on the driver side is bad, I don't know. Are you supposed to do both sides before checking the brakes, I don't know.

Did you bleed the brakes?

And yes, it'd be advisable to do both passenger and driver side before testing it. You definitely don't want to drive around with it only half done.

I just was thinking about that, and no I did not bleed the brakes. I just slapped everything on and that's it. I just watched a few videos and I guess I have to loosen up the bleeder screw until it drips consistently. Once that's done I have tighten up the bleeder and remove any air in the system by using a bottle with a plastic hose that attaches to the bleeder screw then loosen the bleeder screw and pump the brakes to get the air out and the fluid runs through the attached hose.

This issue has been fixed. Bleeding the brakes resolved the problem.

There is a specific order to bleeding the brakes, not sure if you are aware of it. I just don't remember if it's starts with the front driver or front passenger then goes diagonally to the rear, then back up front to finish diagonally in the rear to hit all 4 wheels.

I suspect it has something to do with the proportioning valve and it's design.
