Long story short repair shop said a hose above the thermostat had a pin hole. To save me money they reversed the hose (wanted $50 for part and $100 for labor). They did not tell me this is what they were going to do to save money, just did it and made it seem like they were going to replace the hose as originally prescribed. Is it possible to remove this hose with little to no coolant loss? The car has just had the thermostat, upper, lower radiator hoses, coolant replaced. I could do another coolant drain and fill but I got into deep doodoo for doing this repair in my condo car port (apparently against the association rules). We have a diy garage that charges $12.50 an hour but I've heard if your working on radiator parts it needs to cool overnight. Btw does anyone know the correct part number or name of that hose?Image: https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...89c4b9d0c2.jpg Image: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/honda-t...75ee08be95.jpg
The hose is Honda part number 19509-RNA-A01, Hose, Device (# 7 is parts diagram). Honda list price around $12.
To minimize the amount of coolant coming out, you could clamp the old hose before removing on end. Also clamp the new hose when replacing one end at a time.

Thank-you!! Is Honda parts now a reputable place to get the hose? Thanks!
I have never used Hondapartsnow to order; but, supposedly they are good. The thing is that with online ordering, the shipping costs may end up costing you about the same or more than from picking up at your local dealership.
You can check with Honda estore (this is Honda's site) to see if your local dealer price is less than list price. The price is usually not the same as if you just walked in without ordering online through estore first. Each dealer sets their own price, some more and some less.

Thank-you again! Your right but unfortunately the part is back ordered and won't be available until almost September at the earliest. I ordered it from majestic Honda (they have a new web address).
Majestic is awful. Spend the extra $2 and go to the local Honda dealer.
Or go to a parts store, that is a simple coolant hose for the aftermarket to get correct.
All of the dealerships near me are back ordered on the part till September maybe later. I called Advance and O'Reily and they were stumped after a description of what it was and where it was located along with the part number honda has for it.

Understand that if your local Honda dealer doesn't have the hose in stock, and they claim that it will not be available until September, this means that Honda's Regional Stocking Warehouses don't have it either. Online Honda parts vendors may not have it in stock either... and availability from them will end up being much like your local parts dealer. Their online platforms do not communicate with their live inventory... they essentially allow you to order ANY part listed regardless of their stock levels and they sort out issues later. I suggest you email them first with the part number and check stock before ordering from the online source of your choosing.
