Default fog light wiring

I'm thinking of rewiring the factory fogs to turn on with out the headlights being on. Anyone have a recommendation for tracing the switch off the column? Or I think there's a fuse for the fogs I can maybe get it off the fuse box if the fuse is dedicated for the fogs. Thanks

You should give information regarding your car; like year, model, sedan or coupe, and 4 or 6 cylinder. There are differences. I looked up your past posts, so it looks like you have a 2013 V6, not sure sedan or coupe.

The fog light switch wire (purple) goes to the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit (MICU), which is part of the under-dash fuse/relay box. So trying to wire from the combination light column won't accomplish what you are trying to do. To have the fog lights independent, one way is to use a new separate switch for the fog lights. You would have to cut the gray wire that goes to the fog light relay; and wire in the switch to the gray wire going the the fog light relay. The switch will be to provide the ground source (-) to energize the relay coil; which in turn will provide power to turn on the fog lights.

The fog light relay is located in an auxiliary relay box located in the engine compartment. Shown is the location of the relay for a V6 sedan.

Your in-dash gauge fog-light indicator will not be displayed when you bypass the factory circuit. But, if you get a switch that illuminates when it is on, that can serve as the fog light indicator.

The aftermarket set-up I bought (ebay) came with a switch and wiring harness. I really don't want to drill through the firewall to run new wires. I'll probably just leave the OEM set-up. Thanks. Stay safe and well.

Hi, would this be same relay location for 2013 Accord 4 cyl?? I'm pretty sure it would be but figured I ask. Also, would you happen to have a diagram for the fog light relay handy? Much appreciated!!
