Vibrations and or rubbing after B series swap at 30 mph+
Hey everyone!
I just finished the B16a1 swap on my 93 civic EX coupe which originally had a d16z6 . I retained the ECU (chipped it) , used an LS transmission from an Integra , got all mounts, used B series axles from an Integra,
Innovative shift linkage and everything went fine. The issue I am having now is strong vibrations or a rubbing feeling at about 30 mph and higher on the driver side where the half shaft is . I switched the front wheels from passenger to driver and tested the car once more and it seemed to be less vibrations on the driver side now. I even pulled the axle and the boot was not ripped and overall the axle felt fine. Does anyone have any idea as to what might be going on ? Do I need to get an alignment or possibly raise the cars coilovers since the car is slammed? This issue was not happening before the swap and the front tires have a good amount of life to them. I was thinking my control arm bushings (I inspected them and they could use a change) but like I said this was not happening with the D series stock setup with the same wheels and tires.

Check the front knuckles to make sure that the Integra axles turn freely where they are inserted through the spindle... there are dust shields on the back of the OE knuckles that could be making contact there and creating vibrations/roaring when the vehicle is driven. They look like cone shaped rings and can be pried out of the back of the knuckle when the axle is removed.

Alright . I’ve removed the axles nice more and checked them all in regards to connecting to with the knuckles and they appear fine . I will be ordering some tools to raise the coils now too.
