So I just picked up a 95 wagon with the 2.2 and auto. I changed the air filter and plugs yesterday and now it will not start. A buddy said to swap the platinum plugs for regular plugs. Anyone heard of this?
Yes the old worn plugs make a dull yellow spark and the new ones are a crisp blue, dunno why it won't start.
Verify your plug wire firing order, make sure you have all of the wires going to the proper cylinders. Also, I would suggest getting rid of those Bosch plugs and try a new set of NGK. They have been known to cause issues from time to time. Not sure if it is something about the resistance being off or just a poor design for the ignition system.
Also check engine ground and battery terminal connections, make sure they are all clean and tight. Sometimes when you are in there playing around you could knock something loose.
I've done all that. First thing I did was swap the Bosch for ngk, but they were some crazy metal(like iridium) with the same result.
I tried putting the worn original plugs back and still no go. I'm going to grab some of the same model number plugs that came out, but I worry that since the car came with new coil, cap, rotor, dizzy, and wires, I'll be in for a fight.
I'm not new to wrenching, just haven't wrenched on an accord yet.

Did you gap the plugs .039-.043?
Mix up the wires on the distributor. Test the wires and look for damage to the boots and well, the whole wire.
Over tighten and crack one or two torque is 13ftlbs if I remember right.
Did you change the wires vtech has shorter tubes than non-vtech and will not contact the plug.
i was given the wrong ones once (non vtech) and the seals stuck out of the top of the valve cover and would let water into the tubes.
also check the codes with your paper clip in The blue connector under the glovebox.
I only use ngk plugs. Never had to use platinum plugs
Well, FML!
I've verified good spark.
Edit: The car ran great the whole day Monday. 60miles from Dayton to Cincy, and over to mom n dads for a grill out.
I talked it over with one of my buddys that wrenches too, he thought it was a fuel issue. Sure enough, I look under the car to find the fuel filter and what do I find? A bunch of loose bolts on the fuel tank straps. Full tank of fuel and I get to drop it to check the fuel pump.
What is the group's consensus on the best in-tank fuel pump?
I'd almost bet my last dollar this is because I've already half a paycheck on struts...
