Default Who is the manufacturer of Honda bearings?

Hello all,

Mechanic tells me that he can get front wheel bearings from the manufacturer of Honda bearings much cheaper than if buying from Honda, but won’t tell me who the manufacturer is.

So, I’m coming here to see if I can find out who is the manufacturer of Honda bearings, for my 96 Civic EX?

I appreciate your feedback.

Koyo or NTN.

Oddly enough if you order a Timken bearing for a Honda they are typically NTN in the box.

Correct me, if I’m wrong, but from what I can gather, it looks like NTN for my ‘96 Civic EX.

That said, where else can a consumer buy NTN bearings, other than the dealer?

Napa, rockauto, most decent parts stores. O'Reilly's does not typically offer Japanese manufacturered bearings.

Napa house brand is typically NTN or Koyo but it is variable so you have to order it and then check what is actually in the box.

I did a quick search, but couldn’t find NTN or Koyo on either RockAuto, Napa or Autozone.

NSK is also a quality Japanese brand bearing found on Hondas.

Look closely at the pictures of the bearings on rockauto. Many of them are rebanded. The actual bearing will be marked with the manufacturer.
