Is this a Honda wheel bearing?
I just brought my knuckles to a local shop to have the old bearings pressed out and new ones pressed in(which I provided). I bought the bearings from honda, however I am not sure one of the knuckles I got back from them has a honda bearing in it.(silly me didnt really look at the bearings before hand)
this one has writing on it(and is an ntn bearing) and im pretty sure its a honda bearing.
This other one looks different. No writing on it and it has a rubber all the way around it(red arrows), unlike the other. Is this normal for a honda bearing?
Or is one bearing pressed in backwards compared to the other? is that alright?
They didnt pull a fast one on me and keep my oem honda one and throw in a cheaper bearing?
Sorry for the newb question. Ive never done wheel bearings before.

Re: Is this a Honda wheel bearing?
see sig... its for my Si.
im sure itll fit since thats the same hub so its obviously FOR a honda.(i havent put it back on yet) im just curious if its in properly and why the one bearing is so different than the other. and if its actually a honda bearing(Because i did give them two oem honda bearings to use)
its looking like they may have used a cheaper bearing and took my oem honda one. im not sure though. thats why im asking.

Re: Is this a Honda wheel bearing?
I have read that it is bad to put it in backwards. But i don't know how true that statement is. I would think it wouldn't matter but the rubber ring is there for a reason. If it is backwards its purpose is not being met. Might be bad.
Anyone else?

Most bearings ofteb have a rubber seal on one side and metal dust cover on the other side, it generally doesn't make any difference which side they're on. Some will have metal on both sides though, and some will have two rubber seals.
