2015 Honda Civic SE (or LX) Key Reprogramming Issue
Hello everyone,
I had two Honda Civic keys as shown in the image in the post where one of the keys ran out of battery. When I replaced the battery, I noticed that the program was no longer saved as I wasn't able to use the current key and I was able to use my spare key. When I was looking up on the forums and videos, I watched the traditional method of reprogramming by turning the key to the 2nd mark to turn on the electronics and pressing the lock key 4 times while the door is unlocked to get it programmed. When attempting the process, I was unsuccessful in programming the key. I am of course able to use the physical key to access and start my car, but it can be inconvenient to not be able to remotely unlock and lock my car.
My question is if I need an HDS to reprogram the key when working with a 2015 Honda Civic, if there is another method of reprogramming the key, or if I am just incorrectly programming the key with the right procedure explained earlier. I am not as knowledgeable in key reprogramming and was wondering if anyone had any experience in doing so themselves. I wanted to avoid paying the dealership $130 to reprogram my key. Thank you for the response in advance!

With most of the newer Hondas: After replacement of the battery, try to lock and unlock the doors with the transmitter by pressing the lock or unlock button at least 10 times.
