Anyone know if 00 SI front lip fits the same on 97..or is it totally diff? 6:36 AM 11/17/2002


Anyone know if the 00 CIVIC SI front lip fits the same on 97..or is it totally different? They both look the same! I'm looking for the oem lip spoiler for my 97, TYPE R? Some sites I looked at say its the TYPE R front lip for the 96-98s. There was no TYPE R for 96-98 civic were there ?

 

it's different but i've seen people modify it to make it fit.

 

there is a type r in 98 style. for your 97, you can get a type r lip, or OEM lip or modify somethhing else.

 

The 96-98 TYPE R front lip and the OEM front lip is one in the same, <U>AREN'T THEY?</U> ....just as the available 99-00 oem front lip is the same thing on the 99-00 TYPE R. Thank for the replies

But why would I want 325lbs/ft of torque @3400 rpm and 300 hp?...nah did i say 400 I meant 430 .

 

Actually, there's 2 OEM lips available for the 96-98 Civic.

I have the Wings West replica TYPE R lip.


This is an exact replica of the lip you will find on a JDM Civic Type R.

But Honda also offered a lower spoiler lip for the 96-98 Civic as well. It's slightly simular to the 99-00 "SI" lip (which is also the Type R lip for 99-00 JDM Civics).


All of this confusion of the lower lips is evident due to Honda slightly changing the front ends of the Civic between 98-99. Fun stuff, huh??
