Sounds like your blew the BACKUP fuse. Look at the under hood fuse block . Its the fuse that has like a a raised socket around it.. it powers the keyless stuff including the starter button. When the cars come off the carrier this fuse is in the owners manual pouch gear and its installed during PDI . If this fuse is missing its symptoms are exactly the same as you described. We started them using the key fob against the button method.

The back up fuse is No. A18 in the under-hood fuse box.

make sure the key battery is right should be a cr2032 and also I've seen a lot of times when someone replaces the battery the the metal tabs get bent to where they don't contact the battery. if the back up fuse is blown usually there is more symptoms radio not working etc...
