It was a sunny day and I thought I'd switch out the air cleaner on my 2014 CRV - easy as could be, right?
I watched 3 youtube videos and it looked like rolling out of bed... 5 minutes, max.
So I start in and after finally getting the trick to pulling up on the manifold top - I pull out the old air cleaner and notice it's not quite the same as the new filter, that says 'Original Honda Part'.
Right... so I took a snapshot of the side by side and continue - I drop in the new filter and then try to reattach the manifold - only to discover the new filter won't quite go in. Even with force, the manifold will NOT move over under the tabs on the right to 'snap into place' the say it's supposed to!
So is this some fake 'original honda filter'? The plastic housing looks identical with a very slight exception to one of the side tabs.
Anyhow, I put the old filter back in and it all snapped back into exact right place no problem - 1 minute - done. New filter has been a total PITA!
Does this look like an authentic Honda replacement filter? Obviously the number of folds is not the same as the original... but is that some new Honda alternate filter?
Or is this some ripoff filter that is not original Honda?
THANKS!

Reason: wrong number on year...
Very fake filter. Plastic bag is wrong, the color of the Honda label is wrong. The pleats on the filer are wrong.
That added sticker is an Amazon sticker. Surprise, not. Amazon is well know for peddling counterfeit products in the automotive world. Filters and spark plugs are the worst offenders.
It probably is a fake or a wrong part.. OE parts don't have to add that "circled printed sticker" BS to cover the Honda parts sticker.
Thanks everyone!
This air filter was purchased from Amazon - and I see it comes from 'Commotion Auto' in Lynden, Washington. I saw the seller has a 93% rating so I figured it was the real deal. But it will not sit completely down and no matter how hard I pushed it.
Okay - so WHERE online besides Amazon can I get some actual 100% genuine Honda air filters and parts?
THANKS! for any suggestions about online Honda parts stores...
With most online Honda dealer websites, while they offer discount, there is the shipping costs. Unless, you're buying big ticket price items or a lot of parts, the shipping costs may negate any discount.
Honda estore is the website for local Honda dealership pickup or shipping, some dealers have discounted priced while others don't. Local pickup won't having the shipping costs.
