Need Help with my 2000 Accord 5 speed
Engine is running ok, (not missing), my problem is loss of power at acceleration and it almost feels like the clutch is staying engaged or similar to that. Is there an adjustment or could it be a censor?
Thanks!
Thanks!
can you explain in a little more detail?
Not sure what you mean by loss of acceleration and clutch engagement? Are you saying that you start off in say 1st gear and as you accelerate you feel a loss of engagement, meaning it feels like it is coming out of gear? Like a slipping clutch? If so, yes you can adjust a bit, but I would immediately be looking at replacing the clutch as that won't last long even with adjustment.
Or are you asking something else?
How long since the clutch was done?

When I get in the car, I start the engine with clutch pedal and brake pedal pressed, I warm it up in neutral, no misses, rpm's are good, I put it in gear and drive when I accelerate it feels like I'm towing a heavy load, and the clutch pedal feels different.
Edit; I have only gotten to 3rd gear and just around the block, (my choice)

Did you just change the clutch? When did it start?
to me, if the clutch is not making any noise, no chatter or slipping, then I would think it's something else like fuel delivery, such as a filter or pump. Are you able to run a scan and see and maybe even record what is happening? For example, are the O2 sensors looking good, does the airflow look good (possible clogged air filter), do the plug look good, wires, distributor cap, etc.
If a clutch were over-engaged, it would stick in gear even if you moved it to neutral. If it were slipping it would feel like the car is revving but going nowhere. If that's what you are describing, then again I would think it's time to replace the clutch. adjustment won't really help in this case.

When I Let out the clutch from a stopped position in first gear the car moves forward very slowly, progressively getting faster, but it doesn't hop like it normally would if I let the clutch out quickly, everything else is fine, just the feel of a drag on the car, like the clutch is is not fully disengaging, but I am able to get to the flow of traffic with no problem. Thanks
Am I in the wrong spot on this site? I came here for help and I am not getting it. I have changed the plugs, wires, rotor cap and rotor, I replaced the oxygen sensor on the catalytic converter and I still have the same crap I had Friday morning at 7am, can someone please help me?
