Icon5 Which is the correct 98 Integra Type-R factory Radio??

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to find a correct to period 98 spec Integra Type-R factory radio? Would anyone know which one is it?? It needs to have amber backlight, auto antena function (to open the mast only when in radio function) and the correct attachment bracket in the back? I have found this one: 39100-ST7-A500 '1997 98 99 00 2001 Acura Integra Am Fm Cd Player Stereo Radio Oem 39100-ST7-A500 | eBay' (it does have ST7 in the part code so that looks ok) but I'm not able to find anyware this radio 'lighten-up' to confirm it's amber or blue. Anyone would know?? I would also be happy to hear what are the other options and if you might know the Honda options.

PS. I did try the search function but was not able to find any codes other then the fancy Gathers JDM radios. his radio does have 1JX0 code and I have seen a photo of 4JX0 powered on and it's amber...not sure if it may stand for backlight but maybe....??

Best regards,

Jacek

I have been looking into this too. If you're meaning '98 spec as in JDM, it won't be that Acura one, the JDM seem to be a bit more flashy. My '97 had one very much like this, I think it may have been an option as it also had the speaker pods in the back:

You need to look for the Acura radio with part number 39100-ST7-A600. 39100-ST7-A500 is the non-amber headunit.

All 97-2001 ITRs have the same headunits.

Also, yes, the Canadian 1997-1998 Acura EL headunit lights up amber, however, it is slightly different than the US ITR headunit, mainly the number under the "Compact Disk Player" logo. The 97-98 EL radio is a direct swap into the Integra.
