98 Ex y8 probs

98 Ex y8 probs
So picked this car up..98 civic ex coupe..white..5 speed..coilovers rims not a bad price for under 2k..
after a day or so..the car has had an idle surge.
Far as I know it's a stock motor. Previous guy has a catchcan on it as well. dc header. My problem is the idle surge...from what I can see and determine..there is a y8 automatic IM and TB on the car...tps and IACV are on the throttle body as well. If I replace these with the stock 5 speed ones would that control my idle? Any help would much be appreciated.
