I dyno'd 175whp

the car runs great and feels a lot more powerful than it used too, so I believe the guy did a great job at tuning it. I was just posting to come up with ideas as to why the whp is lower than I expected as i was expecting 200whp.
tuned on 100octane Fuel

Build is as follows

Head:
Ported and polished b16a head
skunk2 pro 2+ cams with upgraded pro series valve springs & lma's
skunk2 pro cam gears (gears set at -1 intake & +3 exhaust for v2v, needed 4 degrees seperation for 0.040")

3in short ram intake with velocity stack
ported matched skunk2 ultra street intake with 70mm throttle body
plm tri y 4-2-1 headers with a 2.5in high flow exhaust

Block:
manley H beam rods
Manley 12.5:1 pistons
rotating assembly balanced
Cr is actually 12.6:1 based of zealautowerks calc

Compression test shows 240psi across all cylinders and leakdown test came back algood.

Could this just be a low reading dyno? I didnt play around with cam gear timing on the dyno, would doing that possibly net 25-30whp gains?

Thanks

It could be a stingy dyno. Pro 2's REQUIRE cam degreeing. "Playing around" with the settings on the dyno is a crap shoot... but it is likely that you will gain power.

I had the cams degreed in before the dyno. Have also done p2v and v2v to find out what settings are safe. Is it possible I'd gain 25whp or so by playing around?

Thinking about it though the mechanic said the cams degreed in at 0,0. But the v2v needed 3 at minimum but ideally 4 degrees seperation. Wonder if he degrees the primary lobes or maybe 0,0 was the correct degree

It is highly unlikely that the true settings for the cams are 0,0.

That's what I thought too. Just based off the fact that the centrelines are different than stock cams

What dyno?

Also, got a chart, datalog, anything? You provided info on whats going on mechanically, but thats only part of the story.

Im inclined to beleive you would make 200 hp on a dynojet. Your torque numbers (roughly 110 ft-lbs at 5200 rpm) are pretty low for 1.8, so I dont think its an issue where its not making power like it should up high, its probably just low accross the board because of how that dyno reads.

Honestly, thats probably a more accurate number at the wheels, Im a firm beleiver that the widely accepted dynojet standard is a bit inflated from reality. It doesnt really mamtter much since its just a tuning tool, but it can be an issue when comparing the numbers to an engine dyno or a different brand of chassis dyno.

If youre still concerned, I would want to see the tune to be able to tell you more.

OK that's okay.
The tuner did state that the most any stock b18c he's had on his dyno has made is 120hp atw. While I've seen stock ones posted on here making 160-170hp atw. So could well just read lower
