Default Engine Swap(s)

Hello, sorry if I’m posting this in the wrong spot but I’m new here. I’ve read a lot of forums and I understand that everybody says that a Kswap is the only possible way to go in the 7th gen civic; I just want to make sure. Please keep your disrespectful words or opinions to yourself, because I honestly don’t care to hear them. If you want to respectfully tell me that I’m wrong about something and educate me then by all means to right ahead but I don’t have time for ********(sorry for my language if that’s a no-go here). Carrying on~

I have a 2001 Civic coupe HX, so it has the very slow VTEC-E motor lmao. I’m honestly fine with it for now because the EX is very underwhelming and the LX is just fine; which is basically the equivalent of my motor except I get better mileage(which I love). I had a 04’ LX before this and I like the D17A6 better for sure. I know that the Kswap is basically my only option, and if that’s 100% true I’m planning on swapping the CRV motor into it in the near future once I get my Acura CL back on the road to daily drive. I want the CRV motor(K24A1 I believe) because I’d prefer the low end torque over the 40 extra horsepower I’d get from other options. I would love it if I could swap a F22 or 23 out of my CL and the accords into just because I love the motor, but I know that the K is a way better option. I already know that I really can’t swap any other engines into the 7th gen, but I’m really curious if it would be possible for me to swap in another D series? I’m honestly not too concerned with the whole swapping an older motor into a newer chassis, just because the car has historic tags and I’ll never have to get it emissions tested or inspected; so that’s not a problem at all. I know that it would be a pain to swap in a D16 trans because of the different linkage and I’d have to cut a hole in the floor or whatever, but is it possible for me to use a D16 with my D17 5 speed?? I’m still going to Kswap in the future, but the D16 has MUCH better aftermarket support than the 17 does and there’s PLENTY of 16’s for sale for cheap around me so I’m just trying to see if I could do that and get a little bit more power(mostly from better response to mods) out of my 7th gen but keep my trans with my linkage and hydraulic clutch setup just temporarily while I get all of my parts together for the K swap. Please let me know, I appreciate it in advance.
