A/C Compressor shaking when clutch engages
Hey guys,
05 Civic Coupe LX Special Edition. This was the wife's car before she inherited a Lexus from her parents.
The AC compressor locked up a few years ago in the middle of the summer, so I replaced the compressor and the receiver dryer. Dumped a can of AC pro in the empty system and the clutch engaged, and the wife was happy and not sweating. Probably not the correct solution, but it worked for the time being.
Now the car is my daily driver and I noticed that the AC wasn't cooling as it used to. Guess there's a leak.
Dumped some more AC pro into the system until the gauge hit the green, but now when the clutch engages on the compressor, the car starts rattling like the compressor is about to wiggle out from under the car.
Did I put too much AC pro in the system? Did I mess it up by using AC pro instead of R-134a and compressor oil separately?
Thanks.
