Default Any ideas ?? I'm puzzled.

This has got to be one of the stranger things I have ever seen. Two days ago I noticed something flaking or peeling off the inner rim so I got a flashlight and it looks like the paint has melted and is coming off. Not having a choice I drove home and about 200 miles in total tonight I looked at my tire and noticed this .

That may be a brake fluid leak there. Brake fluid eats paint.

yeah that's what I was told. When I put my foot on the brake it sounds like there is air hissing . I googled it and I guess it could be the brake booster? But isn't that on the left side behind the brake resivor? I check my oil anytime I do freeway driving and I noticed the brake fluid was low real low added some and today it is low again. How can I find the leak

If that is brake fluid at the wheel, look underneath at the brake line that goes to the brake caliper right at that wheel.

Looks like it is a little wet.

Is that gonna be costly?

Not necessarily. It could be as simple as crush washers or a loose banjo bolt... or it could be a bad soft-line. Since it seems to be isolated to the front left corner, it will likely be relatively cheap.

Yes, since the leaks seems lower down from the rubber area of the brake line, it may be just the crush washers needing replacement. If the left front hose needs replacement, the Honda part is around $50, aftermarket part about $20.

It could be that the booster has a hole in the diaphragm and is sucking fluid into the booster. Maybe...possibly. It's happened to me but not with a Honda.
