Need help with clutch pedal adjustment
Need help with this. I did a clutch job for the first time 500 miles ago. I was forced to spin the pin from the master cylinder a few times to get the pedal enough distance to disengage the clutch and go into any gear. Iv been driving fine but started to notice that my break in was moving my engagement point further up l, so today I looked under to possibly move it back where it was before and now Iv lost place of where it should be. I have a diagram that shows 6.5 inches from floor to pedal at rest but using this it doesn't move dar enough to disengaged. Does anyone have any advise as to where to set this? Also my brand new master appears to be leaking in the very slightest so I may need a new one but idk why it would have failed already.
If you have your pushrod improperly adjusted you will ruin your master cylinder in a hot second. Get a new one and follow the procedure in the factory service manual to adjust.
Hydraulic clutches are 'self adjusting'. You should not need to adjust the pushrod because you changed the clutch, and should rarely have to adjust it by a small amount for a new master cylinder.

Ok that explains a lot. Pardon my ignorance I'm learning as I go. Mechanic work is far to spendy for me and this work car but I rely on it daily. Will a new master come pre adjusted or will I need to search out a service manual? And should it last me a few days until I get a new master and figure out how to install it properly?
