fuel control issue
So i take my 97 civic lx into smog (d16y7) all stock. also i live in cali. anyways no cel codes. Thought it was running fine besides a little valve tick. didn't pass due to CO emissions being too high, max is .55 i believe, mines was 1.22. Took it to a mechanic to look at, he said my brrake booster had a vacuum leak and my valve tick. he also noticed at the 25mph mark for emissions dyno, that something is telling my car to dump more fuel into the system, hence my reason for high CO and running a little lean. Anyways i fixed the brake booster issue and adjusted my valves. decided to clean IM and when i pulled my injectors off to find out the they were shitty ebay ones and not only that but cylinder 1v injector was shorter than the rest, so i went and got oem honda injectors and threw those in but i haven't taken it back to smog yet. so im at a loss right now, i was thinking maybe fuel pressure regulator was going bad, replaced my pcv valve, maf, iacv, tps. My fuel filter is a little old...idk how old. coolant temp sensor has been replaced fresh oil and coolant/hoses. please help
Ok then seems your car is running lean since car is asking for more fuel. If you have a scanner that show live data check fuel trims--short term and Long term fuel trims don't know about fuel trims go here
. Lean can be caused by vacuum leaks (looks like your mechanic found one in brake booster --did he smoke test the engine to find it?) bad O2 weak fuel pump clogged injectors clogged fuel filter. Fuel trims will tell you if your car is running right and that you can pass smog no sense going there when you are running very rich due to a lean condition since you will fail smog.
