So I just finished a turbo d16 build and after the first startup I noticed some oil leak between head and block on the front right corner of the engine. I had both the block and head work done at the machine shop, and I also put in a .050" cometic MLS head gasket on it, And did the torque sequence all the way to 67ft lbs. And after a couple heat cycles, and retorqing the head head studs, it still leaks from that corner in the front right. It has a new dizzy oring, and new vtec gaskets. Also I notice a small leak near the back of the block and not sure where? Also I put a new valve cover gasket from autozone, and I dont see fresh oil anywhere on the head, and I only see oil around block.

 

Did you check top and side of vtec solenoid? Might be worth using an oil dye to figure out where it's coming from.

 

Very likely vtec solenoid or distributor oring
