Battery charger hooked up wrong 2010 Accord coupe V6
Big Rookie mistake explained; my car hasn't been driven in a long time and the battery was run down to the point of clicking. I attached my battery charger up wrong. Crossed the leads. There was a pop sound and now nothing.
troubled shooting I checked the three big screw in fuses in the engine fuse box none were burned and all were good (continuity checked them)
i changed to another battery and turned The key to the accessories position all the lights on and the dashboard lights up as normal but nothing happens when you turn the key to the start position.
what should I do next?
not looking forward to towing the car to the dealer.
Re: Battery charger hooked up wrong 2010 Accord coupe V6
Test whether power is going through the yellow wire at the ignition switch in the START (III) position. You will have to back probe the yellow wire terminal. Backprobing is either using a backprobe set or using a thin needle or something and making contact with the metal terminal of the connector without piercing the wire in the back of the still connected connector.

The yellow wire is also accessible at terminal no. 2 of Connector C at the driver's under-dash fuse box. Otherwise, you can access the yellow wire at the ignition switch with the steering column cover off.

Just thought of another way testing for power going through the yellow wire, test for power at driver's under-dash Fuse No. 8 instead, with the ignition in the START (III) position.
Re: Battery charger hooked up wrong 2010 Accord coupe V6
Everything checked out fine. I knew the battery was bad or nearly bad so I purchased a new one and stuck it in, knowing I didn't want to pay for one at the dealer. I wanted to check that all the accessories were working and they did so I turned the key and it fired right up. Car has been fine since. I did check the output on my battery charger and it was not putting out the required amounts at the settings. Good reason to get a new one!
Thanks for everyone's help. Glad it didn't need to go to the dealer.
