Would you do the ITR big brake swap if you were me?
I can't decide and kinda nervous about doing it vs just getting nice pads for my OEM setup. Part of me says with going turbo I will want the extra stopping power coming down from the highway 200mph runs but... My dilemma is I have a RS model which doesn't have ABS. I had some crazy ***** pull out in front of me while looking right and I had to stand up on the brakes which quickly locked all 4 up and sent me in a slide. Didn't hit her but has me wondering if even MORE brakes would make a situation like this sooner/worse.
Unless you are tied down to a specific class for track/autocross, plan to run 13in drag wheels, or you want to keep the weight down up front. I see it as a cheap budget upgrade over spending money on pads and rotors on the stock size brakes especially with how easy it is to perform the upgrade.
Pro tip, tires stop the car, not the brakes.
Trash tires will lock up, cold tires will lock up. If you can lock up the tires you don't need bigger brakes.
If you can't stop the car, or the brakes fade, you need bigger brakes.
ITR brakes are nice though, and not much more expensive that it's still worth it to upgrade
