Crv awd transmission in the back of a civic
Hi guy
i was recently be looking to build a rally car that makes about 400hp to 500hp and was thinking of doing a mid engine layout with awd and a few people on grassroots said a few years ago that if you changed the engine so that it spins clockwise which would put 5 forward gears and 1 reverse when the engine is in the back so how easy would it be to make it work and would i just have to open up the transmission

Ive thought about this as well. Hook a K up to a B series CRV trans and put it in the back. This would in theory work pretty well because having the front wheels driven through a VC, while still not as good as a real AWD system, it would be better for handling than having the rear wheels driven through the VC.
All that being said, I dont think I would go through all the trouble of fabbing and tuning in that kind of setup if its just going to end up smashed like almost all rally cars are eventually.
A normal AWD converted civic, with no VC, could perform pretty well on loose surfaced. Just have to be careful when moving it around on tarmac not to break the drivetrain.

Why not exactly?
Were talking ultimate bench racing here. Making an adapter plate and custom flywheel is possible, and spinning a transmission backwards can work depending on how its designed. Might require straight cut gears to stop any weird thrust wear.
