2006 Honda CRV won’t recognize CD Player
2006 Honda CRV with an in dash 6 disc changer
a few weeks back I got the Error message while playing cds. Typically in times past when I’ve restarted the car it went away. This time it didn’t, whenever I’d power on the car and hit the CD button it would start with the error. I disconnected and reconnected the battery and put in my code but now it’s like the car forgot it has a CD player at all. Everything else works, AM/FM, Tape, XM, Aux. Just not the CD player, it doesn’t even pop up with the 6 symbols on the side about which discs are loaded. When I hit the CD player button it goes straight to CDC which should be the connection for my IPod hook up. Any tips, help, or advice is greatly appreciated.

Generally the repair is to send it out to get repaired.
You can open it up and look for a broken spring or clip or ?? but its like brain surgery.
Aftermarket units are cheap and plentiful. I have a android head unit in my 06 and its miles ahead of the of the stock unit. Has nav, back up cam, front DVR dash cam, I have Torque app so basically i have a trip computer and a OBD diagnostics unit all built in
I can go online, add aps and also its ready for steering wheel controls out of the box.
i also added a bazooka tube sub...it fits upright neatly in the LH rear corner and there's already built in slots in the trim panel for a large "hose" clamp to go around the tube in and out of the panel so its secure and neat. My interior is black so the bazooka tube just Blends right in. You could if you really wanted to get fancy even cover it in color matched carpet if your car is a different color interior or paint to match is another option if you really want to make it look stock.
You can get android units with CD players but i didnt this time as all my music is digital. I have the Deezer music app on my Android unit in my CRV but you could have YouTube music or Spotify or whatever you want or just use a memory card. ..its the way of the future...the way of the future

If you want to stay stock, there's lots of these for sale on line or at wrecking yards.
To keep your steering wheel controls, youll have to get one from an 05 or 06
