i just swapped in the d16z6 into my 92 vx hatch but the only thing is is that it wont start. it cranks but wont start. i thought that maybe it might be the injectors but the sparkplugs are wet so that means that theyve been shooting fuel. i thught maybe it might be the coil in the distributor but i installed an MSD blaster external coil and it still wont run. the vx motor has an EGR valve by the fuel rail and the d16z6 doesnt so i just left the plug for it sitting there. i pretty much ran out of ideas. let me know what you guys think.

i had the same problem with my car once and it sounded like the same problems u are experiencing and i had to replace the igniter.

 

It's starting but not turning over? Is that the problem? You said it's getting fuel, but it won't turn over, right? It might be the plugs or the wires. Make sure that they're in the right spots.

 

exactly what we had to do when swapping in a b16......in our case, we just replaced to whole distributer....sounds like the igniter to me

 

well all the plugs are in the right spot. i got some denso iridiums in the car. i tried my cousins 92 si distributor and it did the same thing so im assuming that its not the distributor. any other ideas?

 

i am having the same exact problem with my d16z6 into cx, it cranks over but will not start up, check the wires to see if they were correct and changed the plugs checked the timing everything was good. i have compression and spark but it just won't start. checked the fuel it was good, now i think its the injectors, i don't have enough time to work on my car anymore, so i just towed my car to my friends dad shop yesterday because of this problem.

 

GROUNDS, check all three make sure they are clean!! I had this problem on my bros z6 swap a bit ago, and also a side note bad grounds=amps through main bearings=spun, so double check those grounds.
