Black smoke low mileage

Default Black smoke low mileage

hi I want to know can a put a non vetec engine in my honda .I already have a repaired D16 vtec in my car.my engine head is old and block is changed .old block was with smaller pistons .New cylinder block was with bigger pistons .but now my car does not crank in colder weather and does not crank in hot weather conditions. It need to be dragged to start engine. Black smoke is in silencer .fuel consumption is too much

black smoke and bad fuel economy means rich running conditions (too much fuel). Either low compression or (more likely) and injector or fuel management problem. With the hard start situation I would suspect stuck open injectors.

Actually my mechanic did a mistake he changed the cylinder block with big size pistons. The old water damaged cylinder block was with small pistons. Now ian going to change complete head assembly .plz advise should I put the same engine or can I put a non vtec D13B engine for better mileage. Does D13 will give me less power with manual gear or I will b same
