just because the sticker isnt OE doesnt mean the pump isnt. that pump appears to be OEM and probably what happened was it was rebuilt and then the sticker was put on
the pump isnt new or shiney like something right out of the box plus i dont know that anyone makes an actual aftermarket pump

The thing is certain aftermarket parts look exactly like the real one, right down to the bolts etc...it's really hard to tell if it's a actual Honda pump rebuilt or not. I can't find a pic of a 99 civic pump so I can compare. Besides the sticker there has to be something on the actual pump that isn't on a aftermarket, a marking etc...

I tend to agree with Hasport.

Aftermarket will not look exactly like OEM unless it's a china knock off. Aftermarket does not copy casting stamps etc. Also aftermarket with a new sticker like that WOULD be shiny and new unless it was an OEM rebuilt. Then it's just acid washed, rebuilt and sent with rebuilt cataloging sticker put on it.

Or the other likely possibility is it's a professional used part seller, they pull parts and put their inventory sticker on it then sell it.

In my experience, even a re-manufactured P/S pump from Honda will still have a sticker on the edge with the 3-digit type/chassis designation on it just like an original pump. This could be P06, P72, P13, etc. depending on the application. This sticker doesn't appear to exist on the pump pictured above.
So now we are getting into the minutia of what constitutes an OE pump: If an O'Reillys reman supplier uses an original Honda casting and places their own supplied internal parts in it, is it still a GENUINE Honda P/S pump ?

OP, can you elaborate more as to why you have asked this question ? What are your concerns ?

Now that is a very good point.

I have gone through 3 aftermarkets pumps this year, they keep failing and leaking, and I am sick and tired of it. Honda discontinued the pump for my 99 civic. Now my only options are a junk yard or the internet. I want the real one.

I would try to find a clean, low mileage one at the junkyard. Remember the OE sticker on the edge.

Thanks! Is it possible you can show me a pic of the OE pump with the sticker on the edge. I apologize, but I don't know what the edge is, and what does the OE sticker look like.

Have you though about trying to rebuilding it yourself?, I believe its just a couple of o rings if the bearing is good

*edit here is the link for a 99 ex, shows the seals needed

https://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com...gine--p-s-pump

If you rebuild with Honda seals should be good, also make sure you are using PS fluid meant for Hondas specifically, doesn't have to be Honda brand, but should say for Honda and Acuras
