My 92 popped up with 3 codes at the same time.
8 TDC - top dead centre sensor
17 VSS - speed sensor
41 Primary oxygen sensor heater
My guess is one this caused all 3 codes, just don't know what.
I searched on here a bit but didn't find a thread with the same issue. Does anyone know of any threads that could help me out?
I'm gonna start off by looking over the wiring and connections to see if I can find anything.

 

Tonight I changed the manifold 02 sensor that I had bought a number of months ago. Took the car for a spin and it did the same thing. The engine shuttered and the check engine light came on. Tonight I also noticed the RPMs wouldn't go past 3700 like it was a rev limiter. I still haven't had time to look over wiring and connections. Any ideas?

 

Some thoughts:

Check your oil level, too low and the VTEC won't work right, limiting your RPM
The VTEC solenoid itself could also be bad, check gaskets and such and possibly replace
Crank sensor harness could be damaged/shorted, check wires, or the Crank sesnor itself could be bad
ECU could be bad, reset first and see if that helps. It could be in limp home mode.

 

The engine doesn't have Vtec as far as I know.

 

OK, my bad. Makes me think then that it's ECU / limp home mode
