Default 2006 INSTRUMENTCLUSTER

So recently I had the misfortune of blowing out the Drive Circuit for the cluster lights and dash lights . The circuit is on the cluster's PCB so this necessitated a new (used) cluster
As an fyi , the 05/ 06 are unique as the cars will come with VSA and Side Air bags. Additionally, the LX CRV cluster is different from the Ex and EXL cluster for 05/06.
Also to make it more interesting, there are 2 manufacturers of cluster.. Nippon- Sekei ( not mine) and Visteon ( mine).
I did use my 2002 CRV parts car cluster temporary like ( harness and plugs are all the same from 02 to 06 with the exception of the VSA and side airbag circuit being absent in early models) however the SRS light would stay on as the driver cuircuit is different as the 02 has no side arbags. Additionally, theres no VSA driver circuit so no VSA check/ warning light in the 02 cluster as thats an 05/06 thing as well. However the cluster worker flawlessly otherwise.

So word to the wise...if you order a used cluster, as I had to because there were no local ones, ask the to verify the lighting circuit is working. I did get 1 shipped to me and the circuit was damaged. Only half the cluster lit up and when I would turn the lights on the odometer light would go off plus I had no other lights in the vehicle ...example no climate control lights no seat heater lights no buttons for the sunroof VSA or cruise control. This was a result of a damaged light driver inside the circuit board of the cluster.
Most disappointing, and the guys I bought it from refuse to take it back and give me my money back, however I did convince them to give me a partial refund and I kept the cluster for parts. Not sure what parts I'll get off of it maybe if I break a needle or something I don't know. The second cluster I got, I first queried the guy about the dash lights working and they were unable to tell me if they were working or not. He suggested I bring my vehicle there and install it on the lot and if it doesn't work we'll take it back. However I explained to him that I couldn't do that because I live on Vancouver Island and they were in Richmond on the mainland of Vancouver so I asked him if we could come to another arrangement in the event that the lights were not working. So when I explained to them that it's a known problem that the driver circuit could be burnt out he agreed that he would take it back but I would have to cover the shipping, which at this point I was in agreement to. The second cluster was a total success and very close to the kilometres on my vehicle. I wrote down the date of the cluster exchange and the kilometres on the original cluster on the back of the replacement cluster as a point of reference.
