Default Engine harness questions (along side a D16Y8 swap)

(sorry pics went into middle of the post)

So I’m doing a swap y8 into a EF sedan. There mass write up about engine swaps and what to do with the engine and on on. But no one ever talks about what to do with ignition or the dash harness or the head lights and stuff

. I’ve looked. In the pictures below I’ll show what I’m talking about. Like the 0bd0 harness the engine part doesn’t go directly into ecu the the 0bd0 comes out splits off goes to the dash and ignition then has plug for the engine aspect of the harness. The 0bd2 harness plugs directly into the ecu then has a bulkhead grommet then it plugs into the engine sensors and what not. So what am I supposed to for the dash and ignition and stuff if I want to use the 0bd2 harness with my EF how does the ignition get plugged into. Maybe I’m a dumbass and I’m over looking something obvious. If there’s please point me in the right direction

Pic1 0bd0 ecu
pic2 0bd0 engine harness
pic 3 0bd2a engine harness
pic 4 capped plugs on 0bd2a plugs
(might be the fix to what I’m talking about)

Default Re: Engine harness questions (along side a D16Y8 swap)

When I tucked my stock harness (OBD2A) I depinned the firewall side of the driver side harness plug, pulled the wires into the cabin, then repinned the plug. Then I depinned the engine side plug, routed the wires back down the harness towards the ECU connectors and into the cabin, and then repinned them into their plug. Then I went to the junkyard and cut matching plugs with some slack wire and soldered them together to make an extension harness. Then I just plugged in my extension harness and routed it behind the dash to meet the other plug. Hopefully that makes sense. It’s much easier than you think, just time consuming
