Honda V6 2700 engine in dune buggy. Swappable with others if necessary??
Someone that lives near me is selling a dune buggy with a Honda V6 2700 in it that has been sitting for a while.
From what I can tell these came in the 95 to 97 Accords. I don't know anything about the engine and for all I know it could be great and ready to go , but my question is if there are any engines that would swap out directly with it if needed?

It's a C27A engine. 170hp. Older model engine that originated in the 80s. They were a carryover from the earlier Acura Legends and were replaced by the J series. They're reliable but not very efficient. They came in various different displacements with various power outputs with the C27 being the middle of the road. As far as what will swap into that dune buggy...who knows.

Not a whole lot of support still around for the SOHC C series V6's. A C32A1/A6 out of a 93-98 Acura Legend or TL would probably be the closest to a drop in replacement.
J series swap or boosted SOHC 4cyl would probably be more worthwhile.
I doubt the DOHC C30A or C32B would be a worthwhile swap for a buggy.

I would think with a dune buggy, the sky is the limit, just swap motor mounts in many cases, as long as you bring over the whole ecu/wiring/etc I don't mean monster motor, just as long as you make adjustments to line up the transmission to the linkage, it shouldn't be a big deal. My brother as always horsing around with his, he has everything from a little volkwagon beetle engine in there to a V8 out of a 70's camaro. Much like a kit car, I thought. So, agreed with GhostAccord, J series swap makes sense. They are so light, you just don't need a ton of power to have fun in them.
