Does Rear main oil seal rotate with the crankshaft ?
Im trying to understand how can the rear seal stand still while the crankshaft is rotating. (on my d15z6 civic 1996)
I dont have the opportunity to see it my self, and im yet to find a video showcasing it.
Is there friction betweens the two parts ?

Lip Seal Guide
The rear main seal and virtually all other seals on rotating items under the hood of your civic are lip seals similar to what is shown in the images in the link above. there is friction, but it is light.
