Hi & thanks in advance. The wire in these pics has snapped (due to cold weather perhaps?), and my hood simultaneously will no longer remain open without someone on its own. I assume the hydraulic system responsible for supporting the hood is broken. Is this wire the culprit?

 

No. The struts are worn out. Just go get aftermarket replacements.

 

Okay. Could you say what this wire does?

 

It the windshield washer hose, not a wire.
