Noise “whine” in cabin issue
I am experiencing a noise in the cabin that sounds like a whine and no one has been able to find the actual problem.
I own a 2017 sport touring civic with manual transmission. The noise started roughly a year ago and has progressively gotten worse to the point I have brought vehicle in 3 times now. At first it was a “what is that sound” and now it’s sounds like a problem. The dealer has not been able to resolve it. Honda tech has not been able to resolve it.
the noise is a repeating cycle whine or metal rubbing that does not appear to change in speed when revving the engine. It seems the loudest at 2500-2700 rpm. Anything more and it starts to get drowned out. The noise is not always present and when turning off the AC it goes away. Running heat does not cause the noise. The ac compressor has already been ruled out as it was changed. It was observed by a stethoscope that sound is coming from the feeder vent to the cabin. I was able to google and find videos with similar sounding issues but no solutions, seems like a not isolated problem.
otherwise the car is in perfect shape with 45k on it. I have not figured out how to load the video to a shareable source as of now. YouTube gives me an error.
I am hoping to find others with this same problem to get it resolved.
