Default B20 VTEC conversion?

So I’ve decided that I wanted to do a budget build on my EK and swap a b20b into it. I’ve been hearing that you can make a b20b VTEC and I’ve seen conversion kits online for it, but I was wondering if you had to swap the head? It seems like that’s what mostly everyone on YouTube is showing, they swap a B16 head onto the block. Are there other ways or would swapping the head be the only way? I want a VTEC motor for boost applications. I know the b20 can’t handle too much boost but I only want around 8-10. Will a b20 take the same harness as a D series engine or will I have to swap that along with the ECU? I don’t want to purchase anything before I get confirmation.

Swap the head to a B-series VTEC head. Re-use your D-series harness.

Probably better off boosting an LS block. Should cost about the same and I believe it is a bit less fragile than the b20.
