Everything I need for a B20/Vtec build?
Hi I was wondering if you guys could help me out here.
I want to do an engine swap on my 96 EK hatch, and ive been doing research and found out the B20/vtec build is the most "bang for your buck" swap out there, I dont make very much money so a K20 or B18c5 is out of the question, but a B20/vtec fits within my budget.
I was hoping someone could make a list of all the parts I would need for the complete swap, and mabey an estimate on a total (not including labor) just the parts.
-Thank you very much.
EDIT: How much HP do you think I will get out of this build? without boost.

this has been covered in a previous thread. ill put the link on here but in order to do a b20/vtec it takes ALOT more then just throwing a vtec head on the b20 block and a conversion kit. if actually need to be built to run the vtec head correctly.

Re: Everything I need for a B20/Vtec build?
I read this online.
"If torque is what your looking for from your B-series motor, the only option you have is the B20 engine from the Honda CRV. Sitting at 2.0l, it is a whopping 11% increase in displacement over the 1.8l integra motors. Combined with a VTEC head, the B20 bottom end will produce awesome power and easily attain 20+ft/lbs more torque over a similarly built B18C.
The process of building a B20/VTEC motor is simple. It is exactly the same as doing an LS/VTEC conversion. Because the B20 bottom end is also from the B-series family, it easily interchanges with the B16 and B18 family of parts. It also makes swapping the motor into your Civic/Integra a breeze. The only difference is that the B20 has a whopping 84mm bore VS the 81mm in the B18/16 motors which is what gives it the increased displacement."
"Most important parts you will need are:
B20B or B20Z bottom end
VTEC head
18" -4AN steel braided hose
2 x -4AN fittings
1/8"NPT to 1/8" BSP Tee fitting
1/8"NPT to -4AN adapter fitting
-4AN to 3/8NPT fitting
1/8"NPT plug"

you will need arp rod bolts to even consider turning rpm to support the vtec head... and thats just a small thing. look over the second page of that link and you will get into some more stuff thats just as important

Just make sure you build it right unless you want a really expensive paperweight.
