Default 2006 starter bolt

Had a tough time getting the 18M bolt to budge. When it came out it is stripped, hard to see in the hole but I woukd imagine its boogered up a good bit. Any ideas? Should I use one size smaller with a nut at end to replace or try to force another 18M back through?

I don't think that you're going to have an easy time trying to put a nut on the other side. That bolt goes into the block and I don't think it's opened on the other side but I could be wrong I've never actually looked. The other thing that you can try to do is just grab a tap or a thread chaser and try to clean those threads up and see what happens..you might be surprised that it could work; Unless the threads out with the bolt. You can remove the intake manifold to give you better access to the starter if you decide that you need to get in there to try to tap it it's actually not very difficult to remove.
