Default Obd2a auto to manual engine harness modifacation

What's up guys, I need some help. Is it possible to delete the unused auto trans sensor wires from an obd2a engine harness, The harness is being used for a manual. I just want to clean up the harness, get those extra plugs out. My thought process on it would be to locate the 4 or 5 unused plugs, tear open the loom and follow the wires back to the connectors that run to the ecu, and depin them wires from there. Am I anywhere in the ball park by chance?

Yes, you can remove the unused wiring by opening up the engine harness loom and de-pinning the auto based wires at the ECU plugs. Be careful not to remove anything that is shared with other sensors.

Ok thank you, would you know of anyone that has done this by chance that I could read up on? I'm in the process of identifying plugs but I feel like I can't find a clear schematic or labeled auto harness.

A factory service manual? I don't, but I think I can download a pdf, would I download both the auto and manual 96-98 Civic fsm, and then compare the wires? How would you go about this? And sorry about the double reply, didn't realize I did that until now.

That would be one way... however, just the auto engine harness diagram will show the plugs that you don't need as well as the wires that might be shared.
