96 Honda Civic Power mirror adjustment activates Door lock
I have a 96 Honda Civic (bought from a friend of a friend) and there a couple of electrical issues. This is one of them, when the mirror adjuster is switched to the left mirror (driver mirror) and I press left or right, the door lock activates. There is a couple of
cut wires. Can Anyone help?

that looks like the car had a remote start at some point. what happened to me once was the wires in the door jamb of the driver door were broken from opening and closing the door. see if you can open the rubber booth by the door hinge and check the wires there.

There was no rubber booth, if you’re talking about the rubber wire protector that goes from the car to the door, and all the wires were cut, but then Taped back together which I found weird, so I properly connected them back using butt-connectors (I think that’s what they are called) and crimped them back, I did this on both sides, but still nothing changed
Re: 96 Honda Civic Power mirror adjustment activates Door lock
I would start by getting rid of anything no longer needed. Those red and white wires coming from the top row of plugs can go, those are just for accessories they had hooked up. That black relay hanging down also looks like it can go aswell but would have to make sure by following the wires. There are so many cut wires its going to be quite the process to get it right again. Suggest buying either the factory wiring service manual or a chilton for the car that also has the wiring diagrams. Then going back through and getting everything back to spec. Undo and Solder and heatshrink all those connections with the spots to tap into the line. THEN trying to find any issues that still persist.
96 Honda Civic EX Coupe - is there supposed to be 17 wires coming to the driver door?
96 Honda Civic EX Coupe - is there supposed to be 17 wires coming to the driver door harness?!
i got a new wire harness and it only has 16 wires, my old one also has 17. I got a new on because there were a couple of broken wires and my power mirror switch was triggering the power door locks. Can someone help me clean this mess of confusion up! I appreciate it
