The other trick that is done is to cut the tops of the plastic tabs, then use washer and wood screws and screw the panel in place. The plastic post takes the screw with ease and the washer holds the panel.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll fiddle with the FAQ sticky and get this added to it. It's a beast of a post.

I would not heat up around the tabs, I would still a hole. Once it's ready to go back in I use screws
