Hey all

My dome light isn’t working and need some input to trouble shoot. I've changed the bulb and the fuse is not blown and all other lights in the car are working. Dome light stays off no matter which door is opened (EF HATCH).
Any thoughts on what this could be? Also stereo is installed and working fine. Thx.

 

theres 1 power source and 3 ground points for the light. are you saying you checked for 12V power? the harness comes up the driver side B pillar. the 3 ground points are 1 right next to the dome light when switched to constant on, and 2 at the door jambs where the door switch directly grounds the power, completing the circuit on either side to turn it on.

check for 12V power.

 

No haven’t checked 12V power yet but will do that now. Thanks for this info. Very helpful!

 

How did this issue get resolved? I'm having the same thing in my CRX

 

Check for power as previously mentioned and check that the ground points and bulb contact points are good and clean. If you have a multimeter make sure there is continuity between the parts that make ground to turn the light on (the dome light slider switch and the L shaped door pins) and battery or chassis ground. More often then not these contact point just need to be cleaned and/or scuffed up with some sand paper.
