Default 1991 Accord. Changing drivers seat. What options are there?

Hi everybody!
I have a 1991 Accord LX. I also have a world class bad back. The stock seat is better then some but let's face it, the adjustments are lacking. I can move it forward or back. I can pull the side lever and adjust the seat back to some factory set stop points, and that's it.

I'm wondering if there are seats from other models or other years that can go right in place of the original seat. Right on the factory track /sliders? I know if there is an electric seat (I have no idea if Honda offered them) I may have to run power to it. But running power is easy.

So anyone know of a easy seat swap. I tend to like the seat very straight up.

I went to Wal-Mart and bought every car seat thingy they had. No help.

The egg seater like one lifted me off the seat to much. And my head was hitting the headliner.

The back rest spring like thing felt like being kicked in the back.

The car seat mat they had seemed OK. It did not lift me to much. It had heating and cooling. But they put all the switch controls Not on the power cord where you could reach them, but instead on the left shoulder area of the mat. So when you are in the seat you can not see or reach the controls. So they all whent back.

As such I'm now thinking what is there in the way of a seat swap?

As always thank you!

The 95 V6 had a full power dirver's seat. I don't know whether or not it will fit a 91. My 94 EX I4 has power but only for up and down and that is not what you are looking for. So make sure the seat comes out of a V6.

Hey

The short answer here is no. There is no direct swap unless you are using the Japan / JDM wagon seat which did have an electric up and down settings + manual controls you described. And most the seats that will fit with slight modifications ( S2K, Intregra, Prelude, Accord) don't have any more adjustment than what you have now.
The prelude seats are comfortable but again have limited adjustment.

I thank you both for the information.

The Accord seats are actually not bad, it's just that from my neck to my butt I have all kinds of messed up disc's.

Maybe I could get one of those folks that don't use their spine to swap with me.... But then again, they most likly would not have the Spine for it!

I'll most likly add heat to the seat. I may try buying a thin pad with heat controls on the cord. Or maybe buy the heating wire (or heating pads) etc,., and install it under the upholstery. The parts a pretty cheap online from AliExpress. You just have to shop with your eyes open. Some of the sellers are full of b.s..

Does your car have those auto seat belts?

Yes, it has the murderous auto shoulder belt.

As a matter of fact I had to let my mechanic do the tune up on it as the former owner used a shop that must have used trained Apes. Because I was afraid if I kept trying to remove the plugs I was going to crack the darn things.
Well when I picked up the car the mechanic told me the car tried to kill him.
He put his head though the open window and started the car... Yep the killer auto shoulder belt tried to take his head off.

I remember when those things came out. Hated them back then, and still do. It was a stupid overly complacated way to comply with the law on passive restraint systems.

For lumbar support, I rigged one of these onto my drivers 93 Accord driver's seat and it has worked quite well. I have had the same one in there for over 10-years and it's still holding up.

I tried something like that from Walmart. But it was a little different. I'll look at other types.

I have seen this style in a cheep version at some 99 cent stores. For a buck on a cheeply made one it may work as the one I tried was to hard. And I'm assuming the cheep one will be very soft.

Next time I see one, I'll risk a buck.

This thing is comfortable, but I have to admit, I don't drive the car every day. I have worked from home for several years and that has kept the car parked a lot.

My Accord drivers seat is in pretty good shape, and has some sort of lumbar support built-in, but it's not very effective, so I got that thing. The straps fit pretty good, and it makes long drives far more comfortable than before.

If you want heated seats and more comfort get the prelude seats from 95+. The ones that are full back (headrest does not separate). I have these now in my 93 accord and I didn't connect the heat function but they come with pads in the seats already + wiring.
Now these seats don't adjust like you want (same minimal adjustments as the cb7 seats) but they hug you better, have lumbar support, and have heat. Here's a pic of the seat:
