Default Honed developments booster delete.

What master cylinder are you supposed to to use with this?

Their website says stock EK master and gives part numbers and says to use stock lines. But when I look up the masters by the numbers they provided, and also browse EK masters on rock auto they have the line connection on the right side and top front. My lines are both on the left side.

Am I supposed to get EK lines as well from master to propprtioning valve?

This is for an EG without abs, with integra brakes.

Keep in mind they're showing you a bunch of RHD stuff.

You have a range of master cylinders available to you with an EG/EH/EJ1. 13/16" (stock for most 92-95 Civics), 7/8" (stock for 92-95 EX and ABS equipped Civics), 15/16" (90-91 Civic EX) will not require you to redo your lines. a 1" (many DB/DC Integras) will. Start with whatever you already have and go up or down from there as needed. You likely won't want the 1" with manual brakes. Honed has recommendations on their site.

Thanks for the reply. I thought I put it in but must have left it out. Honed recommends a 13/16 master for my size brakes.

Also they give part numbers for both RHD and LHD setups so I dont think thats the issue.

Oh, I looked at their website again and now I get it. They only have an "EK" version. Yeah, "EG" master cylinders are clocked differently and aren't going to fit. "EK" have the prop valve arranged differently so you're looking at probably having to bend and flare the two sections of line going from the prop valve to the master cylinder. Not too big of a job but you'll need a bender and a flaring tool.

Its supposed to mount the master at a different rotation then stock, cant confirm as I have not recieved it yet. So I figured if its off by a little I could bend and be good. But I feel it would at least have to be on the same side of the original master cylinder. I could bend and flare no problem, but I chose Honed because its supposed to use all OEM stuff. I think ill look into if SI brake lines are different, maybe they modeled it from an SI. Mine is a CX or DX.

Ended up contacting Honed about this issue. Even though their website states you can use original brake lines with this kit, you cannot. They dont seem to care which is crumby in my opinion. Anyone with a LHD car would need this shipped and in order to return it you have to pay return shipping. So you end up choosing between spending money to return it or spending money to make it work.

I'll probably keep it, make a brake line and then trash talk them to anyone that will listen. I really hope the product ends up being better than their costumer service.

Hm, you already know the lines will have to be rebent. I recall doing this for my bro's eg hatch back in the day when we mounted an ITR brake booster and MC. If this were an 96-00 civic we wouldn't have to do anything, the ITR BB and MC mount up and no rebending of the lines.

I figured I would have to bend a little. But its too much of a difference so I have to get one new line. I know its not that big of a deal to get a new line. But using OEM lines was a major point in me choosing this product.

I would just by a line at napa, the bending tool, remove your old ones, bend the line that matches the end that goes to the proportion valve and the rest should be custom to line up with the new MC. You gain some experience bending brake lines while having a fresh line.

The issue is the clocking of the mounting ears on the “EG” Civics. The ears are horizontal on newer cars but the older Civics carries over the 45*-ish clocking of the EF chassis. It’s the same thing people have been going through for decades now when upgrading an older chassis to a 1” master cylinder. I usually just go with the 15/16 cylinder to avoid having to do the lines and swap the booster but you don’t get that option since the booster delete only comes in the horizontal configuration.

if you can rent/borrow a bender and a flare tool it will take <$50 to make the two pieces of line that you need. Some people cut the flares off, re-bend the line and re-flare it with the correct fitting. The latter option ends up not looking that great though.

Oh I know about that angle. I also knew that the lines would not line up that is why I stated that he just rebend the line or bend new lines.

Those RHD folks don't have this problem because the only need to bend one line just slightly, its like no biggie to them.
