Hi All, I am looking to buy a particular s2000 from out of state. The body and interior is in perfect same. The only issue is with the engine. the video that I received has a ticking sound to it. Can anyone take an educated guess on what the issue could be? I would like to have a general idea if it is worth the repair or if a new engine is required.

Could be timing chain tensioner?

 

Sounds like TCT. But an unlikely culprit is the valves need adjusting? Can you get another video of the engine getting multiple revs?
