Icon5 Civic locked in park with JDM ECU only

Has anyone used a P08 in their USDM automatic? P28 runs fine in my car but I tried two different P08 ECUs and both keep the shifter locked in park. Trying to determine if the ECUs are defective or if the JDM wiring is different for the transmission or something. Both P08s are automatic versions.

You never fully converted your auto to a 5spd, please go back 5 moves, please do not collect 200.

I have a manual Civic but I blew the differential. Got another transmission for free that I want to swap in it but the car needs so much work at this point that I'm gonna park it and work on it slowly to fix all the issues. I have another EG Civic, with an automatic transmission, that I bought years ago as a project to fix and sell. I considered doing a manual swap on it but I just wanna get it up and running with the least amount of work so that I have something to get around in while I'm fixing up my other Civic. I have heard a few times that Honda automatic trannys tend to not be that good though. My auto Civic is a 92 with about 150k miles. Shifts perfect. Can I expect to have issues out of it or should it be good for a while? Never daily drove the automatic Civic so I don't know what to expect.

My wifes Automatic is doing fine. Bought it with just under 200,000 KM. I did the 3x3 drain and fills to refresh the tranny fluid using Honda ATF. I also added a magnefine inline transmission filter on the return. I wanted to put the the filter on the exit before it went to the radiator but the tubing is much to short to implement so I did it after the radiator on the return line. Tranny is working flawlessly and we've had the car for several years now. It's the engine that is showing it's age.

As long as you get them early enough and it's not the CVT tranny (came in later models I think) then you should be fine if you keep up on the fluid situation. The filter keeps the fluid pristine which in turn keeps the soft internal parts pristine.
