Rethreaded spark plug car won’t start now
Okay so I recently had a check engine light come on In my 97 Honda Civic non vtec 1.6l so I got it read and it said misfire on cylinder 2. After a few days I went to start the car and it didn’t wanna start but would crank. So I changed plug wires and plugs and when changing the plug on cylinder 2 it pulled some of the threads so I used a save a thread insert and rethreaded the hole and put the insert in. The car still does not want to start but sounds like it is trying to turn over. I do smell fuel after trying to start it which makes be believe i am not getting spark just looking on advice on where to start looking before I start parts changing anymore.
Verify that you are or are not getting spark. Pull a spark plug, attach the wire, ground the plug to the engine, have someone crank and look for a strong white spark. No spark or a dim yellow spark means you have issues with the ignition system.
