Default Oil leak rear of engine k24

Noticed smoke coming from rear of engine and smelled oil burning limped home 20 mins away. When I arrived I checked oil and not a drop left. Oil covered bottom of car on passenger side below filter. I check oil filter and its tight and only a week or so old. Yet it had oil on it . Checked oil pan and drain and they were tight and nothing out of the ordinary. I'm thinking vtec solenoid? Is it common for gasket to fail and or would it be the solenoid itself? The car acted fine besides that on the way home please help!

If the oil filter was changed a week or so ago, and now you have this major leak; it may be that the old oil filter gasket was left on. Which can cause what happened.

Remove the oil filter to check if the old gasket was left on.

Since your photo shows the scissor jack lifting the car, just a word of warning, it is not safe to work under a car with only a scissor jack supporting it. Car should be supported with jack stands, etc.
